It’s official, folks. Normalcy has finally returned to Fenway. After a frightening start to the season, when the team’s major priority was to simply get its first win, it’s refreshing to hear murmurings of discontent after the Sox drop just two in a row. The expectations for this team are sky high once again, and it has never felt better to be a Sox fan. The team is clicking on all cylinders. In the famous words of Coach Dennis Green, the Red Sox “are who we thought they were!”
ESPN.com columnist Steven Krasner wrote an article today about John Lester’s recent struggles. I agree with him that Lester seems a bit off his game, struggling with pitch selection and execution, but the man has a 7-2 record! The job is getting done one way or another, and that's all that matters when all is said and done.
It’s a happy day when ESPN columnists are writing articles criticizing your team’s ace who is currently tied for the most wins in the league. Things could be much, much worse. Just talk to any Mets fan.
